Student Taught Lesson

As a team, you will be creating a lesson based on the above topic. You need to ensure that the students learn all of the difference aspects listed below for each topic.  Each person in your group will be responsible for a specific aspect of the lesson, which will be an individual grade. You will receive 3 grades for this assignment. 
  • Your Group Lesson
  • Your assigned section of the lesson
  • How the class does on your section of the test
 
Group lesson:  You need to, as a group, decide how you are going to teach the students.  Are you going to lecture the students? Do an activity? Build a model? Look at data? Read articles? Worksheets? Will you assign homework? Or a combination of activities.  You will have 45 minutes to teach the class your lesson.  For your grade, you have to do the following.
  1. Create Assignment that you will grade and the students will receive a grade on this assignment.  The student’s grades must be submitted to me no later than the day of the test.
  2. Make sure you teach all the areas listed for this topic.
Each of the above must be signed with Mrs. McClurg’s signature in order to receive credit for each of these sections.
 
Assigned Section: You will pick from each of the task below.  This is what you are in charge of.  You team depends on your section to help the class learn the information, do not let your team down or the class.
  1. Teacher                                                                                                         
    1. Write the lesson plan (draft needs to be approved by McClurg)
    2. Make sure everything is signed off on
    3. Make sure everyone is doing their part and ALL deadlines are met
    4. Teach the lesson to the class
  2. Assignment & Grading                                                                        
    1. Create the class assignment (draft needs to be approved by McClurg)
    2. Grade the assignment (ensure that the class grades are turned in to McClurg)
    3. Help students with the assignment
    4. Make sure all the students learn the information on the assignment
  3. Creator of Visuals                                                                                
    1. Create the visuals for the lessons (draft needs to be approved by McClurg)
    2. Create a Poster of the lesson
    3. Help the Teacher use the visual in the lesson
    4. Make sure the class can use the lesson
  4. Examiner                                                                                            
    1. Creates 10 questions for the test (draft needs to be approved by McClurg)
    2. Creates a review sheet with 20 different questions (draft needs to be approved by McClurg)
    3. Ensures the class understands & learns the questions
    4. Grades the review sheet
 
Test Grade:  The Unit Final for unit 2: Living World will be comprised on test questions from lessons Mrs. McClurg has taught and test questions that your examiner has created.  Your team will receive their third grade based on how well the class has learned your topic.  It is your job to make sure EVERYONE knows the information.  This grade depends on it!
